How to view and download hundreds of Reunion photos

Picture
The organizers of the 45th Reunion JFKHS Class of 1971 have made available a tremendous collection of over 800 Reunion photographs!!!

We have pictures taken by the professional photographer during the Reunion Banquet held at our old JFK high school, including the amazing class photo (above) where 120 of us gathered in the gymnasium! Plus, several of our classmates have also given us their “albums” of photos that span all the events held during the Reunion Weekend: the Friday afternoon “Meet & Greet” (in the wooded park in front of JFKHS); the Welcome Dinner at the Golden Dawn Diner; the Saturday morning tennis tournament (held in memory of George Adams, our art teacher and tennis coach); the grand all-day party and evening Banquet held at JFKHS; and the Sunday afternoon luncheon (at the 45th Street Pub in Beverly).

You can view the photographs by clicking on this link:
LINK TO PHOTOS
lThe above weblink will take you to a private “Google Drive” that hosts folders where photos have been uploaded. Access is free and non-restricted. You may download as many photos you wish to keep! However, to minimize potential abuse, the photographs will be publicly available only until June 1.

Once you have opened the weblink, you should see 6 folders (or “albums”), each named for the person who took the pictures. Classmates Glenn Martins, Linda Ann (Davis) Remley, Mike Cote, Rob Rapaport, and Tina Varzeas have uploaded their pictures, along with the images taken by Jose Moreno, the professional photographer we hired to produce the group class photo.

To view photographs, simply open any folder by clicking on it. Select and click (or double-click) any file within the folder to open up the photograph for full viewing. You can view all photos in the folder in a slideshow fashion by using your keyboard arrow keys (or swiping if using a smart phone or tablet).

If you are using a smart phone, iPad, or tablet, your ability to download files is somewhat limited. Generally, you will only be able to download one photo at a time. So, these devices are best for viewing, not saving, photo files.

To save and download photo files, the process varies slightly according to the type of computer (desktop, laptop, smart phone, iPad, tablet), and the operating system and the kind of web browser you use. Unfortunately, if you have a computer older than 7-8 years, it is very likely the Google Drive is incompatible with your system.

For those of you with incompatible systems, you may order a DVD with the entire collection of pictures from our website’s Store for only $10, which includes free shipping. (Or, you can simply send us a check payable to JFKHS Class of 1971 Reunion, 44 Bonnie Lane, Willingboro, NJ 08046).

Classmate Rob Rapaport produced an instructional video on how to view and download photos. The video is located as a file on the Google Drive, or you may access the video directly via this private YouTube link:
"HOW TO" VIDEO

On most computers, you can download any photo file you select, including multiple files. In fact, you should be able to download an entire folder of pictures by double-clicking on a folder to open it, and then clicking on its name that then appears in bold at the top menu bar. Clicking on the folder name in the menu bar should produce a drop list with “download” as an option. Also, you may find the download option when you click on the icon with 3 vertical dots.

On smart phones, iPads, and tablets, if you wish to copy a few files, usually all you have to do is tap on the photo (in full view) and your download options should appear. Look for the download icon (downward pointing arrow). You should be able to directly download to your photo software or cloud storage.

If you encounter problems, you can send us a message by using the "Photo Download Troubleshooting" box. Please describe the model of the device you are using, as well as the operating system and web browser.

Or, you can order the DVD of Reunion Photos by clicking on the "Store" button below.
